Google Invests in University Adelaide

The world's largest search engine - Google - has awarded two research grants totalling $104,000 to the University of Adelaide to improve students' problem-solving skills and also develop novel 3D techniques.

Google is committing more than $46,000 to help the University create a computer-based curriculum with a focus on problem-solving skills.  The School of Computer Science will develop the curriculum, incorporating puzzle-based learning and computational problem solving, which becomes more specialised at each level.   

 

Bournemouth University voted #1 for Tourism

The newly published Guardian University League Tables 2009, have retained BU as number 1 in the UK for Tourism (including Leisure and Hospitality) for 2009.  BU also placed 4th in the UK for Sports Science.  Bournemouth University's overall ranking rose to 39th position for 2009, and has seen a remarkable jump of 41 places over the last 2 years.   

 

Griffith University Village

Griffith International is pleased to announce the establishment of on-campus accommodation at the Gold Coast campus. The village accommodation will be available for Semester I, 2007. 

The Village will open with 135 beds in Semester I, with a further 172 beds coming online in Semester II. Beds will be in apartment style accommodation. The majority are 5 bedroom apartments, with limited numbers of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments also becoming available in Semester II. The residents will share the facilities of each apartment, including the bathroom and spacious living and kitchen areas. Residents will have many opportunities to be involved in activities through the student life programme, and will have access to the many village facilities, including a resource centre and pool.

Bond University announced new School of Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management

Bond University has announced a new School of Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management, that, in partnership with Marriott International, will offer undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs from September 2008.
 

Unique to Bond University’s School of Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management is its industry partnership with globally recognised hotel and resort operator, Marriott International. This partnership with one of the industry giants allows students to undertake their work experience or internships with one of the Marriott hotels, in Australia or around the world.
 

Teacher Training Scholarships at Murdoch *exclusive to KOM*

Murdoch University has made available two scholarships worth $2000.  These scholarships are available to two KOM students attending teach training in Murdoch University in 2008.  These KOM students must be registered with KOM Consultants. 

 

Ontario Secondary Teachers Required

According to the Ontario College of Teachers, Ontario needs mathematics, chemistry, physics, computer studies, French and technological education teachers.
